Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 30, 2026
This policy explains what information Cross Roamr LLC ("Cross Roamr", "we", "us") collects when you use the Cross Roamr app and website, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, email info@crossroamr.app.
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, password (stored securely by our authentication provider, never in plain text) and name.
- Profile: profile photos, country, travel styles and anything else you choose to add.
- Meetups: meetups you host (title, category, general area, time) and meetups you RSVP to.
- Messages: group chat and direct messages, photos you send, replies and reactions.
- Trips: destinations, dates, budget, preferences and goals you enter to plan a trip, plus the itinerary we generate and any notes you add.
- Reviews and safety: thumbs up or down you give people after a meetup, reports you file and people you block. Thumbs down are never shown publicly.
Information collected when you use the app
- Location: only when you allow it and use a feature that needs it, such as showing meetups near you or choosing a meetup area. When you host using your location, the meetup is placed a short random distance from where you are, not at your exact position.
- Usage needed to run the service: for example, how many itineraries you've generated this month, which chats you've read, and basic technical logs used to keep the service working and secure.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party advertising.
How we use information
- To run the app: your account, meetups, chats, trips and profile.
- To generate itineraries: your trip details are sent to our AI provider to create your plan.
- To keep people safe: screening photos and messages for content that isn't allowed, handling reports and blocks, and enforcing our Terms.
- To send account emails, such as your sign-up verification code.
Who we share information with
Other people using Cross Roamr see what you choose to share: your profile, meetups you host or join, and messages you send them. We also use these service providers to run Cross Roamr, and they process data only on our behalf:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and photo storage.
- Vercel: hosting for our servers.
- Google (Gemini API): generating trip itineraries from your trip details.
- OpenAI: automated screening of photos and messages for harmful content.
- Resend: sending account emails.
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim and Open-Meteo: place lookups and weather forecasts. We send place names and coordinates, not your account details.
- Apple and Google: app distribution and, if you subscribe, payments. Their own privacy policies apply.
We may also share information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete a chat, it's hidden for you; the other people in the conversation keep their copy. If you delete your account, your profile, photos, trips, meetups you host, messages, RSVPs, friendships and reviews are permanently deleted. We may keep limited records where the law requires it or to resolve safety reports.
Your choices
- Freeze your account in the app (Profile → Account) to hide your profile and meetups until you sign back in.
- Delete your account in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account). This is permanent.
- Location: you can turn location access off at any time in your phone's settings.
- Access or correct your data: edit your profile in the app, or email us for a copy of your information.
Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have additional rights, such as the right to access, correct, delete or move your data, or to object to certain processing. Email us to use them.
Age
Cross Roamr is for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor is using the app, contact us and we'll look into it and remove the account if it belongs to a minor.
Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls and screening tools to protect your information. No service can be completely secure, so please use a strong password and report anything suspicious.
Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll update the date above. Where the changes are significant, we'll also try to let you know, for example in the app or by email.
